Milking, gathering eggs, checking heavy cows — the work that repeats is most of the work. Mark a task daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly or yearly and the moment you check it off, the next occurrence appears with the right date already on it. Nobody re-creates tomorrow's chores at the end of today.

Overdue sits where you can't scroll past it

Anything past its due date rises to the top of the feed and shows up in the dashboard's Attention Needed count. A list that quietly buries the thing you forgot is worse than no list, so this one doesn't.

Categorized, dated, and assigned to a person

The daily log: what actually happened

Tasks are what you meant to do. The daily log is what happened — a dated journal anyone on the place can write to, kept as one running feed. The heifer that was off her feed, the gate that needs a new hinge, the fact that it rained an inch and a half.

None of that fits a form, which is exactly the point. Six months later when you're trying to work out when a problem started, the log is the only record that has it — and it's there because writing a sentence took ten seconds.
