Seven things raise their hand on their own

Nothing here is a rule you configure. These are the seven states an operation gets caught out by, each watched with the lead time it needs:

• A task coming due — two days out. Enough to plan around, not enough to be noise.
• A task gone overdue — once its date has passed.
• A withdrawal (the days after a treatment before milk or meat can be sold) ending — three days out. Shipping an animal too early is what this feature exists to prevent.
• A breeding due date — a week out, enough to have a pen ready.
• A pasture coming ready — when its rest period is up. Each paddock (a fenced grazing section) has its own switch.
• Maintenance due — a week out.
• Stock under its reorder point — when feed, medication or supplies drop below the level you set.

The place is checked every hour, so alerts arrive on the hour rather than the instant a number crosses a line.

A task's reminder goes to the person it's assigned to

Not the whole crew. If a fence repair is T.J.'s, the two-day warning and the overdue nudge are T.J.'s. Alerts that concern the whole place — a pasture coming ready, feed running low — go to everyone who asked for them.

• Under the bell in the sidebar, with an unread count.
• By email too, gathered into a digest — an alert nobody opened the app to see didn't happen.
• Daily by default, or weekly — whichever cadence you pick.

Except the one that can't wait

A medication withdrawal ending does not wait for a digest. It goes out immediately, on its own, because hearing on Sunday about a hold that ended Tuesday means an animal already sold.

That list of exceptions is deliberately one item long. The bar is "a day late can't be taken back", and only one of the seven clears it.

Your switches, not the ranch's

Every switch belongs to a person, not the operation. Whether you want an email about a pasture coming out of rest is your business — a hand can turn off the low-feed alert without touching what the owner sees.

• A switch per type, per person — seven, all on to begin with.
• Daily or weekly digest, chosen by each member.
• Unsubscribe holds — honoured at the moment the message would be sent, not when it was queued.
• On every plan, free included.
