A small product, built carefully.

What it is

One app that holds the whole operation: the animals, what they've been bred to and treated with, the work that needs doing, what the place produced, what's in the feed room, which paddock has had its rest, what the machinery is owed, and where the money went. Thirteen modules — six always on, seven you switch off if you don't run them.

It's a hosted product. You sign up at app.landandherd.com and use it in a browser; there's nothing to install and nothing to maintain.

What we're trying to get right

• 🧘Calm over dense. Software you'll still be opening in March, not the one with the most fields.
• 🧰Only as big as your place. The modules you don't run leave the sidebar entirely.
• 🛑Nothing written without you. Every AI action is proposed and waits for your confirmation.
• 🖼️Real screenshots. Every image on this site is the actual app with real data in it — never a mockup.

What we deliberately don't claim

This list exists internally to keep the marketing honest, and it may as well be public. These are things Land & Herd does not do today, in spite of being the sort of thing products like this usually claim:

• ❌Self-hosting. There's no self-hosted distribution and no "your data never leaves your control". It's a hosted product.
• ❌Bring your own AI key. The assistant's model is configured server-side.
• ❌Emailed staff invites. Invites are a link you copy and share yourself.
• ❌One-click data export. There's no export screen yet. Email us and we'll get you your records.
• ❌A finished mobile app. The native apps are in early access and cover sign-in, ranch setup, invites and the dashboard. The honest version →
• ❌Offline use. It runs in the browser and needs a connection.

Several of those were on an earlier version of this site and weren't true. They came off, and this page is here so they stay off.

Where it is in its life

Beta. That means a working app running real operations, not a prototype — but also a young one, where things change and you will find rough edges. The trade is deliberate: it's free while we're still building it, and in exchange we get to hear what's wrong with it from people actually doing the work.

When the beta ends there'll be paid plans, with plenty of warning and a better deal for the people who were here first. What we're committing to →
