Free is the plan, not the trial.

Actually free, permanently, with no card on file. It caps what one small place needs capping — 25 head, three pastures, one property, one person — and it has no Farm Hand. Spreadsheet import is on it, templates and all. Everything else in the app is on it too, and it doesn't lapse into anything.

On the button above. Signing up asks for a name, an email and a password, and the plan you clicked carries through to the next screen, where you name your operation — so picking Homestead here means Homestead is what's waiting there. If you'd rather not decide yet, the free plan is on that screen too and needs no card. You can move between plans afterwards in Settings → Billing, whenever the place outgrows what it's on.

Every module, your crew, AI help matching spreadsheet columns and 250 AI credits, before you've paid anything. You start it at ranch setup, one screen after signing up. It takes a card so the trial is real, but charges nothing before day 15 — and on day 15 it becomes a paid Ranch subscription using that card. Cancel before then in Settings → Billing and you're charged nothing at all; your ranch drops to the free plan rather than closing, and nothing you entered is deleted. If you're bringing a workbook whose columns are called whatever its author called them, this is what the trial is for: map it on day one and you'll know before you've paid. A spreadsheet in our own template shape needs none of this — that path is on the free plan.

Settings → Billing, yourself, in about four clicks — change tier, switch between monthly and annual, update the card, or cancel outright. Nobody to email for permission. If you move to a plan with fewer seats than you're using, the app asks which people to keep rather than picking for you, and records over the new cap are hidden rather than deleted.

Only by a trial you started yourself, which says up front that it converts on day 15. If you started on the free plan there's no payment method on file at all, so there's nothing that could charge you — you'd have to pick a plan deliberately.

They're hidden, not deleted. Records over the cap and modules your plan doesn't include stop showing up, and everything reappears exactly as it was the moment you upgrade. Nothing you entered gets destroyed by a billing change.

No — you pay per ranch. The owner subscribes and everyone they invite is covered up to the seat count on the plan: one on Free, two on Homestead, ten on Ranch. If a worker helps at two different ranches, that's two ranches' subscriptions, not two of theirs.

Each ranch carries its own plan, because each one is its own set of records. A second place you barely touch can sit on the free plan while your main operation is on Ranch.

Yes — Settings → Export, open to owners and managers, on every plan including the free one. Individual records as PDF documents, a module at a time as CSV, or the whole ranch as a ZIP archive; the list screens have their own Export control for the subset you're looking at. Asking for money for a system of record you can't get data out of isn't a trade we'd offer.
