Eight documents, each with somebody in mind

Each was written for whoever ends up holding it:

• Animal record — one head, for a buyer: tag, registration, EID (electronic ear tag), breed, dam and sire (mother and father), health, weights.
• Treatment & withdrawal (the days after a treatment before milk or meat can be sold) history — every treatment and its withdrawal window, for a processor or auditor, with anyone still under a hold called out.
• Breeding & lineage summary — an animal's background and breeding history, for a buyer who asks what she's out of.
• Production summary — what the place produced over a period, and what it was worth.
• Income & expense summary — a year by category, for an accountant.
• Year-end tax-line summary — the same year grouped by Schedule F line.
• 4-H / FFA project record — health, feed, expenses, starting and ending weight, total gain and average daily gain for one animal over the project's dates.
• Soil report — a property's USDA soil survey, for a lender, leaseholder or NRCS agent.

For the kid with a steer and a deadline

Nobody enjoys assembling the 4-H or FFA record book the week it's due. Pick the animal and the project's dates, and it comes out with weights, feed, expenses, treatments, gain and average daily gain already worked out — from records kept as the year went.

CSV, a module at a time

Export in settings writes CSV for every record type the app keeps, with proper headers rather than database column names.

The list screens have their own Export control, so what you filtered to on screen is what comes out — the animals under withdrawal, this quarter's expenses.

Or the whole ranch, in one ZIP

The archive is built for leaving, so it's complete rather than tidy:

• Every record type, unfiltered. A type you never used comes out as a header-only file, so "no crops" is distinguishable from "crops left out".
• Your photographs and documents travel with it, in their own folder.
• Modules you switched off are still in there.
• Animals over your plan's cap are included, though the screens hide them.

Who can export

Owners and managers can export. A worker records their own work and reads what they need on screen, without walking off with the whole ledger.

Photos and paperwork, on the record itself

A lot of what a ranch knows isn't a field on a form — the picture of the leg, the feed-store receipt, the bill of sale. Those attach to the record they belong to:

• Animals — a photo gallery and a document list.
• Finance entries — the receipt, against the number it explains.
• Health issues and check-ins — what it looked like on the day.
• Equipment and crops — manuals, service invoices, the field at harvest.
• Daily log entries, and the ranch itself for paperwork that belongs to the whole place.

A Files view in settings shows everything in one place, and all of it comes down in the archive.
